Today marks what would have been Kurt Cobain’s 45th birthday.
Dying at age 27, he joins Jim Morrison, Janis Joplin and Jimi Hendrix in the list of great but troubled musicians to have passed away at that fateful age. Lead singer of Nirvana and figurehead of the grunge scene, Cobain married Hole’s Courtney Love in 1992, their daughter Frances Bean born later that year.
